Archive Box Removal & Destruction
Securely dispose of old archives and ensure private data stays private
Avoid Breaches With Secure Archive Destruction
Many organisations are required to keep archives for a certain number of years. But once the compliance period expires, it’s critical to ensure your archive boxes are safely removed and disposed of. Not just to free up your physical space, but to avoid potential data breaches and fulfill your duty of care. Unfortunately, many organisations don’t destroy their archives on time, leaving them exposed to greater risk, brand damage, and prosecution if the information got into the wrong hands.
We regularly work with businesses in the medical, legal, finance, and education sectors to quickly and securely remove, process, and destroy old archive boxes (and their contents). Our team can collect and destroy archive boxes from your home, office, or storage facility. We can provide a certificate that shows that your archives were appropriately destroyed following the compliance period.

Collection
Our drivers visit different service areas each day, so we’ll arrange your archive box collection for our next available slot in our schedule. On pick up day, our team will arrive onsite, place your boxes on pallets, and load them into a truck to transport them to our facility. To maximise security, our vehicles have GPS tracking so that we can accurately pinpoint their location at any time. We also use this tracking to generate reports, keeping our staff accountable to safe and professional driving at all times.
Sorting
Back in the factory, it’s time to process the the bulk collection of boxes and split the shreddable product from the non-shreddable product. We place your cardboard boxes into baling machines which produce large blocks of cardboard ready for recycling. Your documents are then fed onto a large conveyor feed for shredding. Plastics sleeves and some metal bindings are also removed and also set aside so they’re ready for recycling.
Shredding and baling
Shreddable items and documents are emptied onto conveyors that feed a large industrial shredder. The shredding mouth is capable of biting through very thick sections of paper. It cross-cuts the paper, producing a secure grade shred (approximately 13mm) that ensures your archives are destroyed and protected. The shredded paper (which now looks like mashed up wood chip mulch) is then compacted into bales.
Ready for recycling
Next, we load the paper bales into containers and transport them via a semi-trailer to paper mills. These mills begin the recycling process, adding liquid to turn your shredded documents into new paper products like toilet paper, tissues, paper towel, cardboard, and newspaper. Our sorting processes ensure we produce a by-product that’s ideal for recycling and minimises environmental impact. We also pass on any plastic, metal, and fabric products that come through our factory to the appropriate recycling facility, too.

FAQ’s
Do I need a minimum number of boxes?
No. We can remove and destroy as many boxes as you need, whether you have just one, or a room full of them. The minimum charge for our collections is based on 1 Document Bin or equivalent.
How soon can you collect my archives?
Our drivers are scheduled to visit specific service areas on a regular rotation, so please book your service as soon as possible to secure the next spot in our schedule. We always aim to schedule and complete your archive box removal as quickly as possible.
Does someone need to be there when collecting?
This depends on your filing system. If your boxes are stored in a filing order that’s easy for our team to understand, we only need access to the space so we can remove them. In some cases, we may complete a pre-collection visit to your site and mark the boxes for collection.
How much does archive box destruction cost?
Pricing varies based on a number of factors, including location, access, vehicle required, volume, and whether the boxes are stackable (transportable) or collapsed/damaged. These factors impact the time involved in collecting the boxes, transporting and processing them, and finally destroying their contents.
Can you quote over the phone?
Quite often we can provide an instant quote over the phone if we have detailed information on the volume of boxes, their location/access, their condition, and their contents. To request a quote for archive box removal, please call (07) 5574 5333. you can even send an email with a photo of what you have and we are happy to provide a quote.
